Japan's IPA announced a comprehensive brand identity refresh effective June 5, 2026. The agency adopted 'Beyond Digital' as its new tagline, signaling a shift from pure IT promotion toward serving as a societal platform connecting AI, data, cybersecurity, talent development, semiconductor strategy, and cyber defense. The English name changes from 'Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan' to 'Innovation Platform Agency, Japan,' reflecting expanded responsibilities. The Japanese legal name and 'IPA' abbreviation remain unchanged. A new logo featuring a North Star and circle motif symbolizes guiding direction amid change and a co-creation platform linking diverse stakeholders. IPA President Yutaka Saito stated the rebrand aims to share IPA's evolving role with society, bridging technology, trust, rules, and human capital into a functioning infrastructure for innovation. The agency previously operated under the 'Better Life with IT' tagline.
