Seiwa Credit Union Updates Generative AI Assistant

Ippu Senkin Inc. Seiwa Credit Union has been operating the on-premise generative AI assistant provided by Ippu Senkin since October 2025, with approximately 120 union members able to utilize it. Following a review of usage, system infrastructure has been enhanced and new functions (LLM-OCR function) have been added.

Service Expansion Details

1. Support for the Latest LLM Model

The LLM model referenced by the generative AI assistant has been updated to the latest version. This improves its ability to handle complex queries and enhances response accuracy, creating an environment where it can be utilized in a wider range of business scenarios than before.

2. Strengthening System Infrastructure through Server Augmentation

On-premise servers have been augmented, resulting in a more robust system infrastructure. Stability during simultaneous use by multiple staff members has improved, and a system capable of supporting future expansion in usage has been established.

3. Addition of LLM-OCR Function

A new LLM-OCR function has been added to read and digitize paper and PDF documents. Unlike conventional OCR, this function enables high-precision reading that understands context. It is expected to be utilized in tasks such as reviewing financial statements and loan applications, data entry, and checking deposit/withdrawal records, which were previously handled manually by staff.

Significance and Future Outlook of This Initiative

This functional expansion is the next step following the verification of the business application effects of generative AI, which began in October 2025. It aims to evolve Seiwa Credit Union's use of generative AI from a "usable system" to a "system rooted in business operations." In particular, the addition of LLM-OCR is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of document-related tasks that have relied on manual labor.
