Ipsos, one of the world's leading market research companies, has released the 'Ipsos AI Monitor 2026,' a survey examining public sentiment toward AI and its impact on daily life.
Key Findings (Japan): Sentiment toward AI shows 'excitement' outweighs 'anxiety.' 47% of respondents feel 'excited' about AI-powered products/services, while 31% feel 'anxious.' Regarding the impact on daily life, while 45% said AI has changed their lives significantly over the past 3–5 years, 64% predicted it will change their lives significantly in the next 3–5 years, indicating expected growth in its future impact. Regarding the benefits of AI, 46% agreed that 'the benefits of AI for society outweigh the environmental burden,' exceeding those who disagreed (31%). Regarding the comparison of merits and demerits, 50% clearly believe AI products have more benefits, reflecting a cautious stance toward adoption.
Key Findings (Global): Clear regional differences in AI sentiment exist. People in Asia and Latin America have high expectations for AI. Conversely, people in Europe and North America tend to be more anxious. Regarding future impact, an average of 66% across 32 countries predict that AI will have an even greater impact on their daily lives over the next 3–5 years. Regarding operational efficiency, 62% of workers globally reported that AI reduced their work hours over the past 12 months. This trend is particularly prominent among high-income groups (70%) and younger generations.
