Iris Ohyama Inc. announced the launch of its first sofa combining pocket coils and feathers, the "Utatane Feather Sofa 2.5-Seater/3-Seater," starting June 1, 2026, at home centers nationwide and online. Surveys conducted by the company show that about 50% of users spend over two hours on their sofas on holidays. While about 40% use them for napping, many report discomfort like neck or back pain. This new sofa utilizes the company's mattress expertise, incorporating pocket coils for body pressure distribution and feathers for a soft, enveloping feel. The design allows for comfortable lounging and lying down, with adjustable back and arm cushions to suit various postures.
