Iris Ohyama Launches "LIMEX Groove Wiring OA Floor" with High Wiring Flexibility and Environmental Friendliness

Iris Ohyama Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, President and Representative Director: Akihiro Oyama) will launch the "LIMEX Groove Wiring OA Floor" on July 8, 2026. This OA floor offers high wiring flexibility and is environmentally friendly.

The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the work style reform in Japan. Since 2020, over half of companies have implemented or are considering implementing remote work (※1), leading to an increase in companies adopting free address systems. Against this backdrop, the role of offices has shifted from "places for efficient work" to "places where employees gather to create value," resulting in more frequent layout changes.

On the other hand, the "2030 problem" in the construction industry, characterized by a shortage of engineers and skilled workers and the aging of buildings, has become a social issue. In this context, there is an increasing demand for flexibility in wiring and ease of installation for OA floors.

The grooves can be opened from above, and with an average of 12 cable outlets per square meter, wiring and layout changes can be made with great freedom. Despite its low-profile design of 50mm height, it offers a large wiring space, accommodating areas with concentrated wiring.

Moreover, by using "LIMEX," a material primarily made from limestone, the environmental impact is reduced. Compared to conventional virgin plastics (※2), it reduces the use of petroleum-derived plastics, thereby lowering CO2 emissions throughout the product lifecycle. Its high recyclability also allows for the upcycling of obsolete OA floors into other plastic alternatives.
