Formed in Fukuoka in 2003 by Wataru Ujihara (Vo, Gt), Yasushi Akatsuka (Ba, Cho), and Keisaku Morita (Dr, Cho). DOES means "doe" (female deer).

Debuted majorly in 2006 with the release of "Ashita wa Kuru no ka" from Ki/oon Records.

Released "Shura," the ending theme for the TV Tokyo anime "Gintama," and "Donten," the opening theme, both of which became hits.

Released the single "Guren," which became the opening theme for the TV Tokyo anime "NARUTO-Shippuden."

In March 2016, as the kickoff for their 10th major debut anniversary, they released "KNOW KNOW KNOW," their second TV "Gintama" opening theme single. After releasing various albums, they went on hiatus following their one-man live performance "Thanksgiving!" at Akasaka BLITZ. In 2019, they made a one-night comeback performance at the "Gintama Gin Matsuri" eve festival at Ryogoku Kokugikan on March 2nd.

In 2020, on January 1st, DOES restarted their activities. They are actively touring, with an Asian tour and their first tour of the Americas scheduled for 2026.
