Hitsujibungaku Delivers a Spectacular One-Night-Only Performance Fusing Music with Traditional Instruments at the KAIMoN Music Festival

The "KAIMoN Music Festival | KAIMoN Music Festival – Open the MoN –," supported by radio station J-WAVE (81.3FM), is taking place over four days from Tuesday, May 19th, to Friday, May 22nd. This event celebrates the opening of "MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives," an experimental cultural museum at TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, while presenting a new live experience where modern music and traditional Japanese arts intersect.

The festival features artists closely associated with J-WAVE, including Hitsujibungaku, UA, STUTS, and ROTH BART BARON × Taro Ishida, performing on consecutive nights. Each artist collaborates with traditional Japanese musicians based on their unique musical styles, creating exclusive stages for four nights.

### A Special Live Concert Merging Fantasy and Rock

The venue, MoN Takanawa Box 1000, was filled with excitement. As the lights dimmed, the fantastical sounds of taiko drums, Tsugaru-shamisen, shakuhachi, sho, and 25-string koto resonated. Amidst the sounds of traditional culture, Moeka Shiotsuka (Vo/Gt), Yurika Kasai (Ba), and support drummer YUNA appeared on stage.

The concert kicked off with "Sono Toki." Shiotsuka’s powerful singing voice merged with the delicate sound of the 25-string koto, and as the Tsugaru-shamisen joined, a fantastical atmosphere spread across the floor. The electric sound and traditional instruments resonated, whisking the audience away to another world from the very first song.

In the middle of the set, they performed tracks like "Mayoiga," "honestly," and "Feel" one after another. Stage production utilizing lighting technology colored the world of each song. During the MC after the popular track "Koe," Kasai expressed her gratitude, saying, "It's a challenging event, and I am happy we could perform."

### The Final Tie-up Song for the Future

The excitement peaked during "mother" toward the end. Natural applause erupted during "more than words." After mesmerizing the crowd with both rough and delicate performances of "mild days" and "OOPARTS," they concluded the concert with "Mirai Chizu 2025," the tie-up song for TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY. Hitsujibungaku successfully fulfilled their major role as the kickoff act in a performance filled with happiness, as if everyone in the venue was playing music together.
