[JAF Kagoshima] First Event! "Learning Traffic Safety Inside a Moving Streetcar" to Prevent Collisions: Recruitment for the Streetcar and Car Traffic Safety School Now Open

The JAF Kagoshima Branch (Branch Manager: Kentaro Uehara) will host its first traffic safety awareness event, "Let's Learn While Riding the Tram! Streetcar and Car Traffic Safety School," on Saturday, June 27, at the Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau.

This experiential workshop allows participants to learn about preventing contact accidents between streetcars and cars, as well as essential safe driving points, by utilizing the interior of an actual moving streetcar and the transportation bureau's facilities.

Contact accidents between streetcars and cars have been occurring frequently for some time, with 29 incidents recorded last year. This event is held with the goal of preventing such accidents.

[The main venue for this traffic safety workshop is "inside a moving streetcar"] Participants will learn practical knowledge for daily driving, such as handling near-miss situations when turning right in front of a streetcar and understanding specific traffic rules for streetcars. Instructors from JAF and the Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau will provide the commentary.
