The JAF (Japan Automobile Federation) Tohoku Headquarters (General Manager: Hiroaki Watanabe) will hold the 'JAF Festival Tohoku in Oga Aquarium GAO' on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Oga Aquarium GAO in Oga City, Akita Prefecture.
Oga Aquarium GAO exhibits 10,000 creatures across 400 species, including polar bears and Akita Prefecture's 'hatahata' fish. This event includes talks by GAO keepers and a guided tour of the aquarium's behind-the-scenes areas, which are usually inaccessible to the public. Additionally, participants can experience making hand-made straps using Oga seashells and join a raffle featuring souvenirs from across the Tohoku region.
