JAF Yamaguchi Donates Two Vehicles to Japan Carsharing Association for the First Time

The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Yamaguchi Branch (Branch Chief: Hirohiko Sato) will donate two vehicles to the Japan Carsharing Association (hereinafter, the Association), as part of its community contribution initiatives.

This donation supports the Association’s mission of aiding disaster-affected areas and individuals facing mobility challenges. The donated vehicles will be used in various ways, including free lending during disasters and local mobility support programs. On the day of the handover, the vehicles will be transferred to volunteer transporters who will deliver them to the Association’s base.

About the Donated Vehicles

The two vehicles being donated have previously served in JAF Yamaguchi’s business operations and event logistics.

Vehicles suitable for continued use will support mobility needs, while those not suitable will be recycled, with proceeds funding the Association’s activities—ensuring each vehicle contributes to society in its own way.

● "Utilization Donation": Subaru Sambar

This vehicle was actively used for transporting event equipment and supporting training sessions.

It will continue to support mobility for those in need and provide vehicle lending assistance to disaster victims who have lost their cars.

● "Recycling Donation": Nissan Note

The revenue generated from recycling this vehicle will be allocated to the Association’s support programs.

About JAF and the Carsharing Association

In July 2023, JAF signed the "Disaster Support Agreement (Mobility Resilience Alliance Agreement)" with the Japan Carsharing Association to promote free vehicle lending programs for smooth recovery in disaster-stricken areas.

Under this agreement, JAF has joined the Mobility Resilience Alliance (※), collaborating with the Association by providing vehicle inspections and public outreach for its "free vehicle lending in disaster zones" initiative, aiming to expand support networks.

※ A network of companies and organizations united to swiftly and reliably address vehicle shortages in disaster areas, even during large-scale disasters.
