The Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) Shizuoka Branch (Branch Chief, Takehisa Onoda) will host a members-only event titled 'Let’s Make Miniature Seafood Donburi & Crispy Tempura! Food Sample Experience Workshop' on Saturday, August 29, at Aoi Sample Co., Ltd. (Nigishima, Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture), aiming to promote interaction and camaraderie between local businesses and JAF members.

This workshop features the creation of 'miniature seafood donburi and crispy tempura' food samples!

Using seafood miniatures unique to Yaizu—a town renowned for its fishing industry—participants will craft their own original miniature seafood donburi keychains.

This time, participants can place two additional fish slices compared to the standard version, allowing for a more generous and satisfying seafood bowl.

Additionally, attendees will experience making realistic, crispy tempura food samples. Enjoy the lifelike results!

What is a food sample?

Food samples are realistic food models displayed as visual references in restaurants and other dining establishments. It is said that their use began in 1903 (Meiji 36) when they were first placed in a restaurant inside a department store.
