JDS Launches Regional Revitalization Initiative with Cable TV Operators: 'Adult Walking Tour: Tochigi Kura District' to be Held May 30

Japan Digital Serve Corporation (JDS) is launching a new initiative to revitalize regional areas through collaborative walking tour events with local cable TV operators.

The project aims to provide opportunities to experience local charm, converting increased interest into actual visits and consumption.

As the first installment, JDS will jointly host 'Adult Walking Tour: Tochigi Kura District' with Cable Television Co., Ltd. on May 30, 2026.

Background and Purpose Through the 'satonoka 4K/TV' channel, JDS has long worked with cable TV operators to broadcast region-specific content. Recognizing that regional revitalization requires converting awareness into actual visits, this event aims to provide immersive experiences, deepen understanding, and encourage longer stays.

Concept of 'Adult Walking Tour' This event targets adults with intellectual curiosity and active lifestyles. Focusing on those who enjoy cultural experiences like historical walks or museum visits, the tour features commentary from expert guides to provide a deeper understanding of the town's history and background. After the guided portion, participants are encouraged to explore at their own pace, contributing to the local economy by visiting shops.

'Tochigi Kura District' Course Tochigi City prospered as a post town and logistics hub. This event explores the history behind the city's prosperity. The route includes the Tochigi Dashi Kaikan, Kura no Machi Citizen's Gallery, Yokoyama Kyodokan, Tochigi City Literature Museum, Tsukada History and Legend Museum, and Shinmeigu Shrine.
