YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA (Stage 1 Nishidori 4F, 2-1-4 Daimyo, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka) will host the group exhibition 'Ikimonotachi' starting August 1, 2026 (Saturday).

This exhibition features works by five artists, each using different materials and techniques. Participating artists include Ado, So Ikegami, Tsukasa Kaneko, Yukiko Kurano, and Yoshie Kuroda.

Ado draws wild animals and cats with Japanese paper and oil pastels, while Tsukasa Kaneko creates ceramic works with mushroom motifs using Hagi-yaki techniques. Yoshie Kuroda creates imaginary creatures called 'Mokemokemono' from discarded clothing.

So Ikegami expresses the energy of life through blown glass. Yukiko Kurano depicts the vitality of flowers and plants in oil and watercolor. These five artists, with their differing materials and motifs, each evoke the presence of life through their unique methods.

The manifestations of life we encounter in our daily lives, such as pets as family members or flowers grown at the eaves, are truly diverse. What is the real and profound sense of life we perceive in them? Using the adorableness of living things as an entry point, this exhibition invites visitors to imagine the strength and fragility of life.
