JR East Planning Co., Ltd. is expanding its 'Wheelchair Rental Service by Babycal,' a reservable wheelchair rental service available on the go. The service will be launched at two baggage storage locations operated by JR East Logistics inside Tokyo Station. This is the first time the JR East Group is offering a wheelchair rental service that can be freely taken out of Tokyo Station. The service starts on Friday, June 5, 2026. The two locations are BAGGAGE STORAGE+ on the Gransta B1F (9:30-19:30) and the baggage storage in front of the Shinkansen South Transfer Gate (9:00-20:30), both inside the ticket gates. The fee is 500 yen for the first hour and 100 yen for each subsequent 30 minutes, with a 12-hour maximum of 1,500 yen. Users can rent a Kawamura Cycle WAVIT manual wheelchair, featuring a curved frame and puncture-free wheels, with a load capacity of 100 kg. Advance reservations start from June 4th via website or app, requiring user registration and credit card payment.
