JFE Techno-Research (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiro Hanazawa) announced that it will begin offering the "DX Fundamentals Course" to support the promotion of DX (Digital Transformation) in the manufacturing industry, as part of the "JFE Resolus®" business solutions brand for manufacturers developed by JFE Steel Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masayuki Hirose). The course will be available starting July 8.
[Background]
Promoting DX to strengthen competitiveness and improve productivity is an urgent task for manufacturing companies. However, many companies face challenges in how to promote DX across their entire organization and which specific digital technologies to utilize.
JFE Steel has been promoting DX by regularly holding in-house training sessions called "JFE College" to improve literacy in DX and DS (Data Science) technologies that it has accumulated. Based on these in-house courses, JFE Techno-Research has developed the practical "DX Fundamentals Course" to aid DX promotion in manufacturing companies and will now offer it to external companies.
[Details of the DX Fundamentals Course]
This course is a restructured version of JFE Steel's regularly held "JFE College" to be useful for companies outside the JFE Group. It will be offered by JFE Techno-Research as an item under "JFE Resolus®," the solutions business brand for manufacturers developed by JFE Steel. The content is practical, incorporating many of the concepts and experiences gained from JFE Steel's actual operations. The course consists of the following three chapters:
Chapter 1: "From Digitalization to DX"
For all employees, including administrative staff. This chapter introduces the fundamental concepts for promoting DX, the mindset required from management to operational staff, the importance of company-wide systems, and continuous PDCA activities, using examples from JFE Steel.
Chapter 2: "Fundamentals of Data Analysis and Modeling"
For manufacturing and equipment engineers. Based on JFE's experience and knowledge, this chapter focuses on analysis procedures, applicable technologies, and key points for application. It explains practical methods for data analysis and modeling, covering topics from the purpose of data analysis and modeling to principal component analysis, data-driven models, random forests, and neural networks.
Chapter 3: "Fundamentals of Mathematical Optimization"
For manufacturing and equipment engineers. This chapter explains the basic concepts of mathematical optimization, methods for solving optimization problems, and logistics simulations in manufacturing environments.
