Jimoty, Inc., operator of the local information site 'Jimoty,' has signed a reuse agreement with Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, to promote reuse and reduce waste. Currently, the company has signed agreements with 300 municipalities across Japan, working toward a sustainable society. Sendai City has established a basic policy of 'promoting the 3Rs centered on waste reduction and the transition to a circular economy.' By partnering with private reuse operators, the city aims to create an environment where citizens can easily choose to 'donate or sell' items before 'discarding' them. As of May 29, 2026, the city will foster reuse awareness through its official website and municipal newsletters, and will also create an official city account on Jimoty to enhance information dissemination. The company intends to continue deepening its cooperation with local governments to promote waste reduction and reuse.
