The Nippon NPO Center (Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative: Makoto Oshima; hereinafter referred to as Nippon NPO Center), a certified non-profit organization, has jointly launched a new cross-border learning program called "KADAI LABO Social Issue Exploration Mission" with JMAM Inc. (Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shiro Hari; hereinafter referred to as JMAM) to support corporate human resource development.
In an era overflowing with information about various social issues, do you ever feel, "Why does this problem occur?" or "I don't know where to start addressing the issue."? The "KADAI LABO Social Issue Exploration Mission" introduces real social issues faced by NPOs nationwide, and by deeply understanding the background and structure of these issues, it fosters a sense of ownership to "want to know" and "want to tackle," as well as thinking and action capabilities that transcend existing frameworks.
Why not join us in an opportunity to grow together with people who face real issues and think proactively, without being confined by existing frameworks such as fields or sectors?
What is "KADAI LABO Social Issue Exploration Mission"?
"KADAI LABO" is a platform launched by the Nippon NPO Center and Dentsu B. Team, which gathers and jointly solves frontline social issues from the NPO field. The "Nippon NPO Center," which has a network with NPOs nationwide, conducts one-on-one interviews with each organization to collect real, frontline issues that have not yet become apparent to the public. These collected issues are then edited with copywriters and given names like "XX Problem" to make them easier to grasp as familiar issues.
The newly developed "KADAI LABO Social Issue Exploration Mission" adds JMAM as a partner and reconfigures it as a corporate training program.
The issues are collected by theme: "Children," "Food," "Culture," "Gender," and "Environment." Participants can select issues to address based on their human resource development challenges and learning objectives. By delving into issues closely related to their own business, it can lead to "penetration of purpose" and "redefinition of business value." Alternatively, by tackling issues deliberately distant from their own business, it is possible to "explore seeds for new business" that transcend existing frameworks. Furthermore, in addition to selecting from existing themes, we also offer support for researching and addressing "unique issues" tailored to the organization's strategy.
By engaging with familiar themes, it generates empathy, and by understanding the "structure" of the problem with high resolution, it provides an opportunity to foster a sense of ownership, thinking, "I might be able to change this" or "I want to tackle this with my own hands."
Example Curriculum (Half-day session)
Expected Effects
Development of Self-Directed Human Resources
Fosters an attitude of asking questions and learning proactively. Supports the development of individuals who can act autonomously even when faced with unknown challenges.
Expansion of Perspective and Improvement of Creativity
Breaks down fixed ideas by exposing employees to external values and social issues, while also providing an opportunity to re-examine the organization's own resources and strengths from a new perspective.
Broadening the Scope of Human Resource Development Measures
Enables the provision of cross-border learning opportunities to a large number of employees due to the short-term and low-load program design. It also allows for deployment to employees who have had difficulty participating in cross-border learning due to time or geographical constraints.
Transformation of Organizational Culture
By bringing "realizations" and "questions" from learning back to the workplace, it helps foster a culture that encourages dialogue and challenges in daily work.
We want to create a society where more people continuously question the essence of things, rather than just searching for answers.
We aim for a future where social issues are not left as someone else's problem, but where each individual finds their own connection and takes action beyond their position.
In this era of rapid change, we aim for a future where next-generation leaders who can continuously discern the essence emerge, and where society, organizations, and individuals move forward together.
We aim for a future where such proactive individuals are commonplace.

【Implementation Overview】
Implementing Company
Daiko Securities Business Co., Ltd.
Date and Time of Implementation
May 13, 2026 (Wed) 9:15 AM - 11:45 AM
Participating Departments/Number of People
Digital Society Business Department (5 people), New Employees for FY2026 (15 people)
Purpose of Implementation
To foster "issue-finding human resources" capable of responding to the era of generative AI and to cultivate a social perspective.
【Background of Implementation】
Daiko Securities Business Co., Ltd. and its group company, DSB Information Systems Co., Ltd., have identified the shift from "personnel who solve given problems" to "personnel who discover problems and ask questions themselves" as a critical issue, driven by environmental changes brought about by the rapid advancement of generative AI. This policy is also linked to their vision "DSB Group Vision 2057," which looks towards their 100th anniversary, and it was necessary to foster awareness of social issues from the early stages of employment for young employees. While the subjects for the "Project Activities" in the new employee training program for both companies primarily focused on "proposals for internal problem-solving" until last year, the content was revised this year to aim for the development of the ability to grasp and consider issues from a broader social perspective. Additionally, the Digital Society Business Department (Manager: Keisuke Kondo), newly established this year at DSB Information Systems, aims for "business creation originating from the resolution of social issues" and requires enhanced problem-finding skills and insights from diverse perspectives. Against this backdrop, "KADAI LABO Social Issue Exploration Mission" was introduced for new employees and employees of the Digital Society Business Department.
【Realizations Through Training】
It was impressive to see new employees engage in discussions with a higher degree of initiative than expected and grasp issues based on their own experiences. It was also characteristic that all three groups of new employees chose the same social issue, demonstrating their ability to deepen their thinking around common interests. Furthermore, they realized that "everyday phenomena can be viewed as social issues by changing one's perspective," and they gained a strong sense of the importance of looking at things from multiple angles. For employees in the Digital Society Business Department, collaborating with new employees, who were not yet influenced by the company or their work, provided a valuable opportunity to encounter flexible perspectives unburdened by preconceptions, leading to new insights and viewpoints.
【Implementation Effects and Future Utilization Potential】
We believe that implementing this training as an "entry point" for the project activities within the new employee training program has contributed to improving the overall quality of the project activities. In the project activities following the training, themes that incorporated a social perspective, such as youth loneliness and commuting challenges, were selected, fostering an attitude of proactive engagement. The ability to perceive issues as personal matters has been enhanced, leading to the realization of high-quality results even in a short period. Furthermore, the importance of thinking that originates from social issues has been shared within the Digital Society Business Department, and we feel a sense of progress in improving problem-finding skills. Moving forward, we will leverage this initiative for cross-departmental co-creation and new business exploration, and the entire organization will challenge itself towards creating new future-oriented value in collaboration with society and our customers.
