Earth Day 2026: Connect with the Earth and Experience Circulation. Garbage Collection, Workshops, and Podcast Recording on Wednesday, April 22

Ace Hotel Kyoto (Located in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto; General Manager: Shiho Ikeuchi) will once again collaborate with the commercial facility 'Shinpuhkan', where the hotel is located, as part of its regional contribution activities for 'Earth Day (April 22)' to think about the global environment and encourage action. We will conduct cleanup activities in the neighborhood and around the Kamo River.

This marks the 5th year of this activity, where volunteer staff from Shinpuhkan tenants participate to clean up starting at 8:30 AM. We collected 27 bags of garbage in 2024 and 37 bags in 2025, showing an annual increase in the amount of garbage collected. It is a community-based initiative that considers the future of the Earth and Kyoto through picking up street litter.

Furthermore, this year we welcome 'Sunshine Juice' to offer fresh cold-pressed juice at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. We will also host a 'Compost Workshop' utilizing juice and coffee grounds, as well as a podcast recording.

In addition, we are collaborating once again with global cutlery maker Kai Corporation to distribute the original 'Paper Razor®', which was highly popular last year, in limited quantities to guests staying at our hotel. The Paper Razor® was developed as a plastic-free product using only paper for the handle and metal for the blade, attracting attention as a sustainable daily necessity.

Moreover, starting Thursday, May 7, our main dining 'KŌSA' on the 3rd floor will begin serving a seasonal afternoon tea in collaboration with 'Stumptown Coffee Roasters', which also has a store on the 1st floor.

Sunshine Juice | Compost Workshop & Podcast Recording

'Sunshine Juice' will offer fresh cold-pressed juices at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. We will also hold a 'Compost Workshop' utilizing juice pulp and Stumptown's coffee grounds, alongside a podcast recording.

The podcast will be available to listen to at a later date, but you can be the first to hear the recorded content live in the lobby.

By visiting producers across Japan, listening to their passion and philosophy for vegetable farming, and eating the fruits and vegetables right in the fields together, we value our trusting relationships with producers and deliver the blessings of ingredients without waste.

The Paper Razor® was developed as a plastic-free product using paper for the handle and metal only for the blade, drawing attention as a sustainable everyday item.
