PUMA Launches "VELOCITY NITROTM 5" on July 9 (Thu), Supporting a Wide Range of Runners from Daily Jogs to Races

PUMA Japan K.K. (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) will launch the "VELOCITY NITROTM 5," a versatile, non-plate cushioning model that supports a wide range of runners from daily jogs to races, on July 9, 2026 (Thu).

The "VELOCITY NITROTM 5" is a running shoe with the concept of "Expand your world with a bouncy run," supporting comfortable running in various scenes from daily running to races. By adopting a new last design and a wider midsole platform, the fit, stability, and cushioning have been further improved from the previous model. It also features full-length lightweight and highly responsive "NITROFOAMTM" to provide a comfortable run for many runners.

Achieves a More Comfortable Fit with "JAPAN LAST"

The "VELOCITY NITROTM 5" incorporates a new last design based on industry standards and runner feedback. The "JAPAN LAST," which provides ample room around the instep, offers a comfortable fit. Continuing from the previous model, it pursues a fit that is familiar to Japanese runners, enhancing ease of wear and comfort during daily runs.

NITROFOAMTM Midsole Improves Cushioning and Stability

The midsole is equipped with full-length lightweight and highly responsive "NITROFOAMTM," boasting an 85% energy return. It provides a smooth and cushioned running feel while supporting comfortable running. Furthermore, a wider midsole platform has been adopted from the previous model, further improving cushioning and stability. The stack height is designed at 35mm (heel) / 27mm (forefoot), with a drop of 8mm. By changing the drop from 10mm in the previous model to 8mm, it achieves a more stable ride while enhancing forefoot cushioning.

ENGINEERED MESH Upper Provides a Comfortable Feel

The upper uses premium mesh that is lightweight and breathable. Additionally, the heel features a foam-reinforced rolled collar to improve comfort and fit. The upper structure, which is gentle on the foot, provides a comfortable feel from daily jogs to races.
