povo expands 'povo Data Oasis' to 83 stations for foreign visitors to Japan

KDDI Corporation (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President & CEO: Koji Matsuda; hereinafter "KDDI") and East Japan Railway Company (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President: Yoichi Kise; hereinafter "JR East") will expand the coverage stations for "povo Data Oasis" targeting users of the eSIM service "Japan SIM" for foreign visitors to Japan from June 9, 2026. This will enable data top-ups at a total of 83 stations, mainly within JR East's service area.

povo Data Oasis is a service that provides free data usable on povo2.0 simply by accessing a special website from your smartphone at specific locations. For customers using Japan SIM, we offer a free data capacity of 0.5GB per day, up to a maximum of 5GB per month (total of 10 times) at eligible stations.

Japan SIM can also be purchased via a dedicated link within the smartphone app "Welcome Suica Mobile" provided by JR East for foreign visitors. By smoothly setting up a communication environment both before and after arrival, it comfortably supports various scenes during a visit to Japan, such as train use, sightseeing, and information searches.

KDDI and JR East are committed to providing each customer visiting Japan with a more comfortable and enriching experience.
