Tour Highlights
This tour offers exclusive access to privately-owned historic residences, normally closed to the public, guided by their owners and caretakers.
Inagaki Residence (Ageki, Inabe City): A grand mansion that prospered as a sake brewery during the Meiji era. Guests will tour the still-functioning water channel called "Manbo" and two well-maintained gardens, guided personally by Mr. Inagaki.
Oyama no Ie – Kato Residence (formerly Shigemori Residence): A late-Edo-period building currently being restored using traditional construction methods. Guests will explore the interior structure reflecting the transition from Meiji to Showa, and enjoy matcha tea in the already-restored spaces.
Lunch at Onoe Villa: A prestigious restaurant converted from the private home of Meiji-era notable Kennosuke Kosuge. Guests will savor exquisite modern French cuisine while overlooking a vast garden.
