Van Cleef & Arpels Launches 'Les Classiques' Fragrance Collection, Honoring its Heritage

Van Cleef & Arpels is launching 'Gem Eau de Parfum' and 'Tsar Eau de Toilette' from the 'Les Classiques' collection, which revives fragrances presented from the 1970s to the 1990s, on June 23, 2026.

Honoring heritage. In the 'Les Classiques' collection, the Maison shines a new light on fragrances launched between the 1970s and 1990s. The bottles, with their pure forms, retain their original colors as a tribute to the originals, and the labels use the typography of the time.

Timeless and with an unwavering personality, Van Cleef & Arpels' 'Les Classiques' are fragrances to be worn like jewels. Applied directly to the skin, they elegantly highlight the wearer's silhouette and add sophistication to their attire.

A new bottle design that celebrates Van Cleef & Arpels’ heritage

While the signature scents remain the same, the presentation has been renewed. Reflecting the timeless appeal of these fragrances, we have designed bottles with pure, architectural lines that blend tradition and modernity. A black cap is adorned on a silver-plated band.

In a nod to history, each fragrance name is inscribed in the same font as at the time, exuding an unwavering presence. The Van Cleef & Arpels monogram is also subtly engraved on the glass.

As an homage to the Maison's heritage, the new bottles feature colors reminiscent of the originals. 'Gem' reflects the colors of its rare composition, while 'Tsar' is finished with emerald green lacquer.

An ode to two emblematic fragrances

Van Cleef & Arpels celebrates two fragrances that have left their mark on its history. 'Gem', born in 1987, is a chypre fragrance with multifaceted brilliance like a precious stone. 'Tsar', created in 1989, is an aromatic woody fragrance, evoking the Oriental influences that supported the development of Art Deco style.

Created by Alberto Morillas and Roger Pellegrino, 'Gem' is a fruity floral chypre fragrance that sparkles like a multifaceted gemstone.

At the top, peach, plum, and mandarin blend to create a fresh and effervescent scent. Cardamom adds an unexpected, vibrant accent.

This is followed by rich floral notes. Ylang-ylang, rose, tuberose, and carnation vividly express their individual characters. Sometimes opulent and sensual, sometimes delicate and transparent. They layer together, weaving a rich bouquet with a deep texture. A woody base with a hint of vanilla adds further mysterious depth to this fragrance.

Created by perfumer Philippe Bousseton, this aromatic woody fragrance reveals its originality as it blossoms on the skin. Top notes of bergamot bring a vibrant freshness, transitioning to a delicate heart of rosemary, thyme, and lavender with a spicy accent. Jasmine and geranium intertwine, gently enveloping the scent, with these rich notes enhanced by the warmth of amber. The elegant woody notes of vetiver and sandalwood then unfold, bestowing this fragrance with an exceptionally elegant aura.
