Background and Objectives
Since its partnership with "THE DALTON SCHOOL" in New York in 1976, Dalton School has been practicing the Dalton Plan, centered on "Freedom" and "Cooperation." This website renewal, at the milestone of the 50th anniversary of the partnership, aims to more clearly communicate the school's educational policies and daily learning to parents, current students, alumni, and the local community.
By reviewing the UI/UX (User Interface/User Experience) and content structure, the school has expressed its educational philosophy and the capabilities fostered more visually and understandably. Information on courses tailored to different age groups, as well as admission and event details for each campus, is now presented in a visually clear manner. The school has also organized archived information, streamlined the site structure, and optimized the display for mobile devices such as smartphones. Furthermore, systems have been put in place to share daily learning activities, including extracurricular and inquiry-based learning, in a more timely fashion.
Intent of the Main Visual
The main visual, themed around a "dome where learning expands into the future," visually represents Dalton School's educational concept. Inside the sphere, it depicts Dalton's distinctive learning experiences such as classroom activities, experiments, inquiry-based learning, nature exploration, and community interaction, envisioning them forming a single world as they connect. It is intended to convey the importance of "autonomy" and "challenge," where children can freely choose diverse and specialized learning, and how learning expands from the individual through dialogue and cooperation with diverse others, connecting to the future. The overall color scheme and typography aim for a friendly yet trustworthy impression for both children and parents.
Future Plans
In the future, the school plans to further enrich its content with information that deepens connections with parents, alumni, and the local community, as well as a special 50th-anniversary page. Information on events held at each campus and various content will be announced sequentially on the official website as details are confirmed.
