The Kawano Pediatric Medical Scholarship Foundation held an online training session titled 'Learn Dialogue and Consensus-Building Skills! Conflict Management Training' on April 27, 2026, for its current scholarship recipients and alumni doctors. The purpose of this training was to learn how to view inevitable conflicts in medical settings and daily life as 'opportunities' to improve outcomes and foster team development. The instructor was Dr. Yukihiro Fukuda, a general practitioner and occupational physician who is also active as a coach and lecturer across various fields. Since starting its scholarship program in 1990, the foundation has introduced various programs such as career seminars and mental health training since fiscal year 2022 to meet the needs of its students. In this training, participants learned how to manage and resolve conflicts in multi-professional collaboration and patient interactions within medical settings. Participating students commented that the training was useful for group work and clinical settings, and that they realized the importance of looking at the context behind others' words.
