TOKIUM Inc., a provider of Accounting AI Agents, has announced that its AI New Lease Judgment service is now capable of making lease judgments that include related agreements such as memorandums and individual contracts. The new lease accounting standards published in September 2024 require lessees to, in principle, treat all leases as on-balance sheet items. This necessitates a detailed review of each contract to determine if it qualifies as a lease. In practice, many contracts, such as rental agreements, frequently have related agreements added, or a basic contract may have multiple individual contracts linked to it. This new function allows the AI to perform lease judgments that incorporate the content of these related contracts. When a related contract is linked to the original, the AI automatically detects it and proposes an updated judgment to the user, streamlining the process of identifying and re-evaluating contracts when related agreements are added or updated.
