Key points of the "Livability Ranking 2026 <Gunma Prefecture Edition>": The top two spots remain unchanged for the second consecutive year: 1st place is Yoshioka Town, Kita-Gunma District, and 2nd place is Takasaki City. Maebashi City ranked 3rd for the third consecutive year.
- Yoshioka Town, Kita-Gunma District, ranks 1st for the second consecutive year. Located in the center of the prefecture, it has developed as a commuter town for Takasaki and Maebashi. - Tamamura Town, Sawa District, rises to 4th place from 8th last year. Located in the southern part of the prefecture, it is adjacent to Maebashi, Takasaki, and Isesaki. It offers excellent access to the centers of Takasaki and Maebashi (approx. 20 minutes) and features the Takasaki-Tamamura Smart IC.
Key points of the "Desired Residential Area Ranking 2026 <Gunma Prefecture Edition>": Takasaki City ranks 1st for the eighth consecutive year. The 23 Wards of Tokyo rank 2nd for the fifth consecutive year. Saitama City and Yokohama City are tied for 3rd.
- Takasaki City ranks 1st for the eighth consecutive year. Takasaki City continues to dominate with a high number of votes. Three of the top five municipalities are located outside Gunma Prefecture (Tokyo 23 Wards, Saitama City, and Yokohama City).
- 80.3% of residents are satisfied with their current town. Combining those who "have no particular desired town" (60.4%) and those who "want to continue living in their current town" (19.9%), 80.3% of respondents expressed satisfaction with their current living situation.
