(Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Kei Takeuchi) conducted one of the largest residential satisfaction surveys and compiled the results into the 'iiheya Net Livability Ranking 2026 <Kyoto Prefecture Edition>' and 'iiheya Net Desirable Residential Area Ranking 2026 <Kyoto Prefecture Edition>.'

Overview

Top Livability Station: Marutamachi Marutamachi (Subway Karasuma Line), located in Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, rose from 2nd place last year to take the top spot. 2nd place went to Kuramaguchi (up from 6th), and 3rd went to Matsugasaki (up from 4th).

Top Livability Municipality: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City (7th consecutive year) Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, ranked 1st for the 7th consecutive year. 2nd place is Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City (6th consecutive year), and 3rd is Seika-cho, Soraku-gun.

Top Desirable Residential Station: Kyoto (7th consecutive year) Kyoto Station (JR Tokaido Main Line) took the top spot for the 7th consecutive year. 2nd place went to Umeda Area, and 3rd went to Kobe-Sannomiya Area.

Top Desirable Residential Municipality: Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto City, which also ranked 1st in the livability category, took the top spot this year. 2nd place is the 23 Special Wards of Tokyo, and 3rd is Sakyo-ku, Kyoto City.

Survey Methodology This survey was conducted on 16,955 men and women aged 20 and over living in Kyoto Prefecture, accumulating responses from 2022 to 2026.
