KNOWLEDGESENSE Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Atsushi Kadowaki; hereinafter referred to as KNOWLEDGESENSE) is pleased to announce that, as of today, we have released a new feature for the Notebook function of our corporate generative AI agent, "ChatSense." This update allows users to add text files such as meeting minutes, memos, logs, and manuscripts as sources.

The "Notebook" function of ChatSense provides an experience where users can add documents like PDFs and Office files as sources and then ask questions and interact with the AI based on those documents. With this latest update, we have expanded the range of supported source types to include text files (e.g., .txt), which can now be directly imported into Notebook. This enables the utilization of text-based materials like meeting minutes and memos for Q&A, summarization, and slide generation within Notebook. Background of the Release

Generative AI, including ChatGPT, is being adopted by many corporations to improve operational efficiency and enhance service quality. ChatSense, provided by KNOWLEDGESENSE, has gained attention for its strengths in security and its ability to learn from internal company data, leading to its adoption by over 500 companies, including major corporations listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market.

Previously, ChatSense's Notebook function primarily supported adding documents like PDFs and Office files (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) as sources for AI interaction. However, we received numerous requests from users in the field, such as "I want to directly import meeting minutes saved as text files," "I want to use AI to analyze logs output from servers or text from manuscripts I'm currently writing," and "I want to use text files directly without going through Office applications."

In response to these requests, we have enabled support for text file input in the Notebook source addition function starting today. Text-based materials like meeting minutes and memos can now be used for Q&A, summarization, and the generation of derivative outputs within Notebook, just like PDFs and Office files.

Feature Highlights

1. Text Files Can Be Added as Notebook Sources

In addition to PDFs and Office files, text files (e.g., .txt) can now be directly added as sources to Notebook. Documents saved without the need for Office applications can be used as input for the AI as they are.

2. Supports a Wide Range of Textual Materials, Including Meeting Minutes, Memos, Logs, and Manuscripts

Notebook can import a wide variety of text-formatted materials, such as meeting minutes, work memos, server output logs, and manuscripts in progress. Users can engage in Q&A and dialogue within Notebook regardless of the document type.

3. Usable with the Same Workflow as Existing Notebook Functions

Added text files can be seamlessly integrated with existing Notebook features, such as asking questions about selected sources, creating summaries/briefings, and generating slides (Studio), just like PDFs and Office files. The user experience remains consistent even when switching between different document types.
