【June 4th is Cavity Prevention Day!】A Picture Book That Makes Brushing Fun: 'Stitch and Let's Try Brushing: Did You Do It? With Mirror (Disney Books)' Released!

As children's teeth gradually come in and they transition from baby food to regular meals, parents start to worry about tooth brushing. The thought 'I wonder if they can do it without fussing?' is something many moms and dads share.

To address these concerns, Kodansha released 'Stitch and Let's Try Brushing: Did You Do It? With Mirror (Disney Books)' on Monday, May 25, 2026. This is a story about Stitch from the Disney animated film 'Lilo & Stitch' challenging himself to brush his teeth with Lilo. It is a picture book designed to spark interest in tooth brushing and help children start brushing with a positive feeling.

Stitch, who is brushing his teeth for the first time, doesn't do well at first. However, with Lilo's guidance, he tries again, saying 'One more time!' and smiles, exclaiming 'I did it!' Step by step, he gradually becomes able to brush his teeth.

Reading this book aloud before brushing fosters a 'I want to try it myself' feeling, allowing children to experience the joy of 'I did it!' alongside Stitch. Furthermore, the last page includes a mirror for children to see their own teeth. This book aims to encourage the habit of brushing teeth and provide an opportunity to deepen parent-child communication.

A campaign to commemorate the release of the picture book 'Stitch and Let's Try Brushing: Did You Do It?' will be held from noon on Friday, June 4th!
