Komlock lab, a subsidiary of Pacific Meta Group, has officially begun initiatives toward building an 'AI Agent Economy.'

As the first step, the company released 'Kova (β),' an autonomous payment infrastructure for AI agents, today.

Background: Why an AI Agent Economy Now?

While AI agents are increasingly substituting for human labor, a fundamental constraint exists: they cannot make payments independently. Currently, human intervention is required for every purchase or use of external services.

While major global players like Coinbase, Google, and Stripe are working on standardizing payments for AI agents, adoption and use-case analysis in Japan remain limited.

Komlock lab is leveraging its technical verification experience to build an environment where AI agents can autonomously discover, select, and pay for services.

Roadmap

### Phase 1: Building Autonomous Payment Infrastructure (Current) Constructing 'Kova (β),' the foundation for AI agents to engage in economic activity. - Kova (β) official website: https://kova-agent.com/ - Features: An execution environment where AI agents can access wallets, authentication, signatures, and payments. It supports major AI agents like Claude Code, Codex, and OpenClaw via one command, featuring an open design for developers to add and publish new 'skills.'

### Phase 2: Ecosystem Attraction Enabling corporate services to be discovered and selected by AI agents by deploying APIs and skills on Kova.

### Phase 3: Normalization of Autonomous Transactions Aiming for a state where companies can discover, compare, and purchase services from other companies, promoting organizational AI-nativity.

Partnerships

- Coincheck, Inc.: Initiated joint research to analyze transaction models using AI agents, verify consistency with regulations, and review risk management frameworks. This research is independent of the Kova (β) product. - Tempo: Payment infrastructure partner. Develops and operates the 'MPP (Machine Payments Protocol),' an autonomous payment protocol for AI agents, collaborating on the design of the Kova payment experience. - Pacific Meta, Inc.: Participating as an ecosystem partner.

Moving forward, the company will continue to build validation partnerships with service providers and work toward expanding the ecosystem.
