kubell storage has launched a free 'Ransomware Automatic Detection and Defense' feature for its domestic online storage service, Secure SAMBA. The feature protects enterprise assets by detecting abnormal file operations, such as mass renaming or overwriting (signs of encryption), in real-time. Upon detection, it sends immediate alerts to administrators and automatically locks the affected user account to prevent ransomware propagation. To prevent business disruption during legitimate bulk operations like data migration, administrators can customize settings by toggling the detection on or off and choosing whether to apply the lock. The feature is provided at no extra cost as a standard capability for the Business Plan, Enterprise Plan, and Chatwork User Special Plan. Secure SAMBA serves over 8,000 companies with a retention rate above 98% (as of May 2024). kubell storage, a subsidiary of kubell (formerly Chatwork), was established on July 1, 2021.
