The string ensemble "Ishida-gumi," known for their overwhelming live performances that transcend the boundaries of classical music, is making their first landing in Music City Koriyama next Sunday, April 5th!

Koriyama City's image characters, Gakutokun and Onpuchan

"Ishida-gumi," planned and formed in 2014 by violinist Yasunao Ishida, who serves as concertmaster for the Kanagawa Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kyoto Symphony Orchestra, is a "once-in-a-lifetime" string ensemble that gathers top players from across the country for each performance. With bold repertoire selections that cross genre boundaries and passionate performances filled with the intensity of a serious competition, they have earned strong support not only from classical music fans but also from a wide range of music enthusiasts.

For this debut performance in Koriyama, it has been decided that the music city "Rakuto" Koriyama's image characters, Gakutokun and Onpuchan, will be on hand to cheer them on!

Furthermore, to commemorate the event, a special campaign will be held where five lucky attendees will be randomly selected to receive T-shirts signed by all the ensemble members. Please look forward to it!

In November 2024, "Ishida-gumi" held a concert at the Nippon Budokan, drawing a sold-out crowd of 8,300 people. Their momentum has not waned since, and in 2025, their album "Ishida-gumi 10th Anniversary 2024 Spring" won the "Instrumental Album of the Year" at the 39th Japan Gold Disc Awards. In 2026, they are currently on a nationwide tour, their largest ever, encompassing 44 venues and expecting over 80,000 attendees, including a performance at Osaka-jo Hall on October 11th.

Don't miss this opportunity to experience the "serious competition of strings" by Ishida-gumi live!
