The screams that once echoed on Mount Hiei will resonate again this summer at Daimaru! Revived!! Reiwa's Mount Hiei Haunted House 2026 to be held at Daimaru Kyoto Store from July 19th (Sunday)

The 'Mount Hiei Haunted House', once a beloved summer tradition, was revived in Kyoto city last summer for the first time in a quarter of a century. During the event period, it attracted over 20,000 visitors. This year, the event will be held again at the Daimaru Kyoto Store in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, powered up from last year, as 'Revived!! Reiwa's Mount Hiei Haunted House 2026'. The event period has been extended by 8 days from last year, running from July 19 to August 31. The admission time has also been extended by 30 minutes, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, making it easier for office workers and OLs to visit after work.

The 'Mount Hiei Haunted House', which made countless people scream and was hosted by the Kyoto Shimbun until 1999, was missed by many. This year, not only the ghosts of yesteryear but also new ghosts from Mount Hiei will awaken, and with mechanisms similar to those of the past, it will be enjoyed by many families and young people as a new 'cooling-off experience' spot in the middle of Kyoto.
