LB Planning (headquartered in Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture; representative: [Representative Name]), an independent financial planner based in Osaka, has compiled and released consultation trends from 77 trial consultation applications received between January and June 2026. The most common consultation theme was 'asset management' at 45%, followed by 'home purchase/home loans' (35%) and 'retirement/pensions' (34%). Additionally, 53% of all consultations involved two or more themes, revealing that financial concerns rarely exist in isolation.
Survey Result 1: 'Asset Management' is the Top Consultation Theme at 45%
Breakdown of consultation themes (multiple responses allowed; total of 77 applications):
Asset Management: 35 cases (45%)
Home Purchase/Home Loans: 27 cases (35%)
Retirement/Pensions: 26 cases (34%)
Life Planning: 13 cases (17%)
Insurance: 10 cases (13%)
Education Funding: 8 cases (10%)
Estate Planning: 6 cases (8%)
Severance Pay: 2 cases (3%)
Real Estate: 1 case (1%)
With the growing adoption of the new NISA framework, inquiries about 'what and how to invest' and 'whether current investment strategies are suitable' have become the most common. Interest in home loan interest rate trends has also sustained high levels of consultation regarding home purchases and refinancing.
Survey Result 2: Clients in their 50s are the most frequent, with clear generational differences in concerns
Among the 57 applications that included age information, those in their 50s accounted for 21 cases (37%), the highest proportion, followed by those in their 40s (13 cases, 23%), 60s (11 cases, 19%), and 30s (10 cases, 18%).
When analyzed by generation, concerns differ clearly. Among clients in their 50s, 12 out of 21 cases (57%) cited 'retirement/pensions' as a consultation theme, whereas clients in their 30s and 40s primarily focused on 'home purchase/home loans' and 'asset management.' The data reflects how individuals approaching retirement age are beginning to concretely plan for post-retirement living expenses.
Survey Result 3: Over Half Engage in 'Combined Consultations' — Financial Concerns Rarely Stand Alone
A total of 41 applications (53%) involved the selection of two or more consultation themes. Consultations often spanned multiple topics, such as 'home loan refinancing and retirement fund preparation' or 'asset management and insurance review,' as single financial decisions often impact the entire household budget.
Representative's Comment
"Since our establishment in 2005, we have handled over 3,000 consultations in total. In the past six months, we've particularly noticed an increase in confirmation-type inquiries such as 'I've started NISA, but is my current approach appropriate?' Additionally, more than half of consultations now involve combined themes—intersections of housing, retirement, and investment—reinforcing our belief in the growing importance of comprehensive life planning that organizes the entire household budget before focusing on individual product selection."
