Recip Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture; President and CEO: Motoaki Kitano), a consolidated subsidiary of Recip Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture; President and CEO: Shin Sugimoto), will participate in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's (MLIT) project 'PLATEAU'—a national initiative to develop, utilize, and open 3D urban models—as part of a demonstration project aimed at solving social challenges and creating new value based on private-sector needs.
By integrating PLATEAU's 3D urban model into its tourism DX solution 'QUICK TRIP,' Recip will provide intuitive navigation that enables tourists to move without confusion, as well as a seamless experience allowing destination selection and ticket purchases to be completed entirely on a map interface. Additionally, by offering a data-driven tourism promotion platform to municipalities and tourism associations, Recip aims to enhance regional appeal and create next-generation inbound tourism experiences.

Background and Objectives
With the recent increase in inbound foreign tourists, there is an urgent need for intuitive navigation that transcends language barriers, promotion of regional tourism circulation, and advancement of tourism digital transformation (DX) using digital technologies. Recip has leveraged its expertise in developing solutions for public transportation to launch 'QUICK TRIP,' a tourism DX and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solution connecting regional transit and tourism.
In this project, Recip will integrate PLATEAU's highly detailed '3D urban model' into the existing 'QUICK TRIP' system platform to create a 'next-generation tourism and mobility experience' that allows both domestic and international tourists to move comfortably and without confusion. The goal is also to deliver new value to municipalities and tourism associations.
Project Activities (Integration Concept: PLATEAU × Recip)
Using PLATEAU's 3D urban model, Recip will conduct demonstrations and verifications linked to various functions of 'QUICK TRIP' (Ticket, Map, Sign, etc.).
Intuitive Navigation via 3D Digital Twin Maps
PLATEAU's 3D cityscapes will be recreated on a web-based digital map. This will enable tourists to intuitively grasp their current location and the direction and position of their target bus stops or tourist attractions through realistic 3D visualization, creating a confusion-free tourism MaaS system.
Seamless Integration with Digital Signage and Mobile Tickets
PLATEAU's 3D urban model will be used on digital signage inside buses and at bus stops to display surrounding tourist information in three dimensions. Furthermore, by simply selecting a destination on the 3D map, users can seamlessly complete the entire process—from selection to purchasing inbound-targeted mobile tickets—enabling a smooth regional touring experience.
Providing a New Tourism Promotion Platform to Municipalities and Tourism Associations
By enabling visualization through simulation of foot traffic data and tourism information in 3D space, this platform will contribute to enhancing regional appeal and supporting the efficient planning of tourism strategies based on digital data.
Recip's Strengths and Future Outlook
Recip possesses comprehensive know-how in sustainable tourism, offering end-to-end solutions—from route design to data management—for municipalities facing challenges in tourism infrastructure. For example, the company continues to deliver the 'Shizuoka Prefecture Mount Fuji Climbing Pre-registration and Entry Management System' and the 'Shizuoka Prefecture FUJI NAVI App' (2025–2026 fiscal years), aimed at addressing overtourism at the World Heritage site of Mount Fuji while ensuring a safe climbing experience.
Leveraging its strengths in advanced system operations and multilingual support, Recip will promote the integration of this cutting-edge 3D urban modeling technology. Through synergies between advanced technology and existing solutions, Recip will continue to contribute to solving regional mobility challenges, advancing tourism DX, and revitalizing local communities.
About PLATEAU
In the book 'A Thousand Plateaus' by French philosopher Gilles Deleuze and psychoanalyst Félix Guattari, a 'plateau' (plateau or upland) refers to a nodal point of thought that has neither beginning nor end. A plateau is described not as a unified structure aiming for a single peak, but as a philosophical practice where diverse, autonomous, and decentralized systems connect horizontally to gain resilience.
MLIT's 3D urban model, with its high data extensibility and interoperability, functions as an architectural nexus—enabling autonomous, decentralized, and decentered value connections across various fields. It allows each player to independently conceive and implement solutions centered on their own needs.
The 3D urban model provides countless such nodal points to society, fostering interconnected development across all fields through cyberspace.
The name 'PLATEAU' embodies the hope for a resilient, autonomous world envisioned by Deleuze and Guattari in 'A Thousand Plateaus.'
