Life Shift University Holds 12th Term Graduation Ceremony Featuring Honorary Professor Shigeru Omi's Commemorative Lecture

Life Shift University (hereinafter referred to as LSU: Chairman Koichiro Tokuoka, President Hideki Fujita) will hold a graduation event on Saturday, August 1, 2026, which will include the 12th term graduation ceremony and a commemorative lecture.

[About the Commemorative Lecture]

Since its inception, LSU has held commemorative lectures coinciding with graduation ceremonies, inviting guest lecturers from both within and outside the university. This term, Shigeru Omi, an honorary professor at Jichi Medical University and also an honorary professor at our university, will be the speaker.

Dr. Omi, who has long been a leading figure in global public health and infectious disease control, supporting the "life and health" of all people, will speak passionately about how to live vibrantly and boldly through the "multi-stage" life of the 100-year era, which has long been called VUCA. His talk will offer hints for life strategies and provide encouragement not only to the graduates but to all attendees.

[Shigeru Omi Profile]

Graduated from Jichi Medical University (1978). Served as Regional Director for the Western Pacific Region of WHO, Honorary Chairman of the Japan Community Health care Organization (JCHO), and Chairman of the Novel Coronavirus Response Headquarters Subcommittee, among other positions. Currently serves as Chairman of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association and Honorary Professor at Jichi Medical University. Appointed Honorary Professor at LSU in June 2025.
