LinkTrip, headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo, led by CEO Keisuke Hashimoto, has begun providing and supporting the operations for the 'Rainy Day Worry-Free Plan' trial campaign launched by Golf Digest Online (GDO).
This campaign offers partial or full cashback on purchase amounts for eligible weekday golf tickets if specific weather conditions are met. LinkTrip handles the weather determination based on objective meteorological data, manages the refund process, and handles outcome notifications.
[Campaign Overview] - Plan Name: Rainy Day Worry-Free Plan - Period: July 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026 - Eligibility: Weekdays only (excludes weekends and holidays) - Venues: Iwase Sakuragawa Country Club and 4 other courses
LinkTrip's role is to perform system-based determinations by referencing third-party weather data using booking information linked from GDO. This eliminates the burden on users to provide rainfall proof or submit documents. LinkTrip also supports the cashback process via its app.
The invention related to this system was granted a patent on May 11, 2026 (Patent No. 7862053). LinkTrip aims to expand partnerships with other leisure service providers facing similar challenges, striving to provide mechanisms that convert weather risks into customer satisfaction.
