The Reality of Post-Plastic Surgery: Lino Clinic Releases Documentary on Staff Member's Revision Jaw Surgery

Lino Clinic Higashi-Ginza (Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Director: Kunio Miyazaki) has announced the release of a four-episode documentary series documenting a staff member's experience with revision cosmetic surgery. Dissatisfied with previous procedures, the staff member chose to undergo orthognathic (two-jaw) surgery at the clinic.

In recent years, information about cosmetic medicine has proliferated on social media and video platforms. However, the focus often remains on final results or short-term recovery. There is a lack of information regarding the psychological burden of deciding on surgery, the reality of daily life post-operation, and the long-term changes patients experience.

In this project, a staff member of Lino Clinic Higashi-Ginza appears as the patient. The series records her struggles with past facial contouring surgery, the background of her decision to seek revision, the day of surgery, the recovery process, and her return to work.

This project is not intended to promote cosmetic surgery. Instead, it aims to provide comprehensive information for those considering such procedures, helping them understand not only the benefits but also the risks, downtime, and psychological shifts involved to make a self-satisfying choice.

Episode 1: Until the Decision to Have Surgery Covers the long-standing complexes following previous surgeries and the mental journey toward choosing orthognathic surgery.

Episode 2: Facing Cosmetic Surgery Discusses the gap between ideals and reality, and how her perspective on cosmetic medicine has evolved.

Episode 3: The Day of Surgery Records the pre-op explanations, final consultations with the doctor, and the patient's state of mind.

Episode 4: Return to Work and the Present Details the postoperative recovery, the process of returning to the workplace, and messages for others considering surgery.
