2. About the "Sendai-eki Masamune" Brand

A local sake brand originating from Sendai Station, created with the desire to "provide something that Sendai can be proud of to those who visit Sendai Station."

With the concept of "made only with Sendai ingredients, by the hands of Sendai people," it was launched in 2010 as a Junmai Ginjo sake brewed by Katsuyama, a Sendai brewery, using Miyagi/Sendai rice grown with underground water from Mt. Izumi by farmers in the Nejiroishi district of Izumi Ward, Sendai City.

It has been patronized by customers within Miyagi Prefecture as "local Sendai sake" and by customers from outside the prefecture as a "Sendai souvenir," and this year marks its 16th year.

This product, "Sendai-eki Masamune Beer IPA," is one of the craft beer series that carries on the brand's philosophy.

3. What is IPA (India Pale Ale)?

IPA (India Pale Ale) is a beer style that originated in England in the 18th century, believed to have originated from the use of a large amount of hops to improve its shelf life. It is characterized by its gorgeous aroma and solid bitterness derived from hops, and has since evolved into a beer with a rich aroma reminiscent of citrus and tropical fruits. With its unique flavor, it is one of the representative styles in the craft beer market, known as a "beer to enjoy the aroma."
