Christie Herself Adapted the Play - Stage Version with a Different Ending from the Novel

Christie's masterpiece, offering two different endings for the novel and the stage!

Christie, who was frustrated by adaptations of her works by others, such as "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd," wrote her debut play "Black Coffee" in 1930, which became a clean hit and a long-running success. Thereafter, she declared, "No one but myself should adapt my novels, and I will only choose novels suitable for stage adaptation," and successively tackled the dramatization of her own full-length novels. In her autobiography, she stated that "And Then There Were None" was the work that allowed her to pursue a path not only as a novelist but also as a playwright, positioning it as a turning point in her career as a dramatist.

Her bold cuts and setting changes for the stage adaptation of this perfect novel, which is flawless in its composition and direction, along with the provision of a different ending from the novel, were due to Christie's showmanship towards the audience, as she was a theater enthusiast. Whether in novel or stage form, it is a masterpiece by Agatha Christie that consistently pursues "intelligent and sophisticated" entertainment.

Eight guests are invited to the Owen residence on Soldier Island, an isolated island off the coast of Devon, England. On the next boat, young Marston, a man from South Africa named Blore, General Mackenzie, the elderly Miss Brent, former judge Wargrave, and Dr. Armstrong arrive. After dinner that evening, a disturbing voice suddenly announces the past crimes of these ten people. Gradually, one by one, they begin to die according to the lyrics of an old nursery rhyme - as each person disappears, the remaining people are gripped by fear and suspicion. Meanwhile, the soldier figurines displayed on the mantelpiece disappear one by one --
