Film researcher and critic Koryo Ito launches newsletter on professional writing platform "theLetter"

I am Koryo Ito, a film researcher and critic. In this newsletter, I will deliver anecdotes related to the eighth art, cinema. While there is already an abundance of film-related information available, this newsletter is for those who are not satisfied with existing explanations, and will focus on deep information that is not easily found through searches. Film is simultaneously a mirror reflecting the world and a window through which to peer into it. A little trick is needed to see the world differently from others. I will share hints for that.

Film researcher and critic. Graduated from the Department of Law, Faculty of Law, Keio University. Withdrew from the doctoral program at the Graduate School of Human and Environmental Studies, Kyoto University, after receiving guidance for research. Currently an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Kumamoto University. Received the "Film Criticism Grand Prize 2015" for his essay "The Creation of a National Idol - Contemporary Manifestations of Fascist Aesthetics Seen in AKB48." His book, "Film as General Knowledge for Work and Life" (PHP Institute, 2021), is also available.
