LUCA Japan Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Keiko Sidenum, hereinafter "the Company") and its affiliated company, LUCA GP3 LLC (hereinafter "LUCA GP3"), announce the successful completion of fundraising for an investment limited liability partnership (hereinafter "the Fund") aimed at investing in late-stage, privately held U.S. companies. The fundraising was conducted in two rounds, in March and June 2026.

Overview of the Fund

The Company and LUCA GP3 established a fund targeting investments in late-stage U.S. private companies, conducting fundraising in two phases during 2026.

Two types of funds were offered to Japanese investors: yen-denominated and dollar-denominated. The dollar-denominated fund was co-sponsored through a joint GP structure via LUCA GP3, in collaboration with ZUU Inc., a company specializing in asset formation support for entrepreneurs.

The total capital commitment from Japanese investors across these funds amounts to approximately JPY 4.8 billion. Investors include institutional investors, corporations, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals, reflecting broad participation from diverse investor groups.

Investment Targets and Strategy

The Fund targets high-value, late-stage U.S. private companies, with a strategy focused on investing in a carefully selected portfolio of 12 companies.

Investment targets are global leaders in fields such as AI, space, defense, and next-generation software. While IPOs are the primary exit strategy, the Fund will also utilize secondary market sales for investments that do not reach IPO, aiming to maximize returns for investors.

Through its Singapore subsidiary, the Company has previously provided local private banks with investment opportunities in mega-ventures such as SpaceX, OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, and Anduril. The Company’s transaction volume over the past two years totals approximately USD 240 million (JPY 38 billion). This Fund is designed as a diversified portfolio based on these proven investment track records.
