SCS Compliance Is Becoming a Key Challenge for Business Partnerships The 'Security Countermeasure Evaluation System for Strengthening Supply Chains,' promoted by Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)—commonly known as the SCS Evaluation System—is becoming an unavoidable issue for many companies. According to publicly available information, ★3 and ★4 ratings are scheduled to be implemented by the end of FY2026. As a result, compliance with this system is expected to become a requirement in future procurement and business transactions. Beyond internal security measures, companies must now verify and manage the security posture of subcontractors and business partners. For companies with over 100 employees, it has become increasingly difficult to determine what actions to take, to what extent, and in what order.

Relying on Consultants Increases Costs and Operational Burden Fully outsourcing SCS compliance to external consultants may provide expert support, but it often leads to high costs and long-term dependency. In companies lacking dedicated internal security staff, tasks such as reviewing guidelines, requesting checks from subcontractors, collecting responses, identifying gaps, and tracking improvements are often scattered across Excel sheets and ad-hoc processes—increasing the workload on responsible personnel. Consequently, despite recognizing the importance of compliance, many companies stall at the initial assessment phase, failing to progress toward achieving ★3 or ★4 ratings.

Visualize Your Current Status and Manage Gaps with a Limited-Time Free Version This seminar will demonstrate how to approach SCS compliance without relying solely on costly external consultants. Instead, it will focus on helping companies first visualize their current status and manage compliance gaps internally. The centerpiece of the session is 'SPC Trust Chain,' a service designed to support SCS compliance. It offers features such as guideline management, response handling (edit/delete), issue tracking, operational delegation, subcontractor check requests, response collection, risk analysis, feedback, and document storage—enabling end-to-end support from preparation for ★3/★4 ratings to ongoing operations and employee training. For this event, a free beta version will be introduced, allowing companies to begin by assessing their current compliance status. Rather than immediately committing to large investments or consulting contracts, participants will learn how to visualize their situation, organize required actions, and establish internal management—offering a cost-effective path to SCS compliance. Additionally, since the SCS system includes numerous requirements related to identity management, the session will also cover key measures in authentication and ID management—such as strengthening subcontractor authentication, multi-factor authentication in on-premises environments, and privileged ID management—using CloudGate UNO.
