MC Digital Realty and NTT Smart Connect Agree to Collaborate to Enhance AI Infrastructure Convenience in the Osaka Area

Tokyo, July 7, 2026 - MC Digital Realty Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kohei Yamashita; hereinafter referred to as MCDR), which develops data center, colocation, and interconnection solutions in Japan, and NTT Smart Connect Inc. (President and CEO: Kento Miyaoku; hereinafter referred to as NTT Smart Connect) have agreed to collaborate with the aim of strengthening connectivity in the Osaka area and responding to AI infrastructure demand.

In recent years, with the expansion of cloud services, content delivery, and AI utilization, digital infrastructure used by domestic and international businesses requires higher processing power, stability, and scalability. In particular, with the growing demand for AI infrastructure, the requirements for data centers are changing significantly. In addition to high power and high density support, excellent cooling performance and future-oriented scalability are becoming more important than ever, along with high connectivity for efficiently distributing large volumes of data with low latency.

Against this backdrop of environmental change, the importance of linking large-scale data centers capable of handling high power and high heat generation with network connection hubs concentrated in urban areas is increasing in the Osaka area as well. By combining their respective strengths, it is expected that an infrastructure environment will be realized that balances high-density digital foundations, including AI infrastructure, with connectivity to diverse businesses.

By enabling connection between the data centers of both companies via DCI*, it will be possible to provide services that mutually leverage the strengths of MCDR's KIX Campus and NTT Smart Connect's urban data centers in the Dojima and Sonezaki areas. Therefore, the companies have agreed to collaborate to strengthen connectivity in the Osaka area. Through this collaboration, both companies aim to respond to high power and high density demand and enhance connectivity in the Osaka area, thereby flexibly meeting the diverse customer needs of the AI era and providing optimal solutions.

Strengths of Each Company:

NTT Smart Connect operates multiple urban network data centers in the central areas of Osaka, including Dojima and Sonezaki, where IX, telecommunications carriers, ISPs, cloud, and content providers are concentrated. Through services such as the fiber optic cabling service "Dojima Connect" and DCI services, they provide flexible and high-quality digital infrastructure.

MCDR operates the KIX Campus in the Saito area (Minoo City and Ibaraki City) of Osaka Prefecture, with a total IT power capacity of 74MW. The four data centers within the campus all support high power and high density environments and have high scalability. The KIX13 data center has obtained DGX-Ready Data Center certification, providing a flexible and highly reliable infrastructure environment capable of handling AI workloads.
