The Japan Medical Association (President: Yoshiro Matsumoto), in collaboration with the Kanagawa Medical Association, held an event at a hotel in Yokohama on May 31, World No Tobacco Day. In addition to the award ceremony for the 'Let's Promote Smoking Cessation! Senryu Contest,' the Yokohama Cosmo World Ferris wheel and the Yokohama Marine Tower were lit up in yellow-green. This event was held in support of the Yellow-Green Campaign taking place across the country. The color yellow-green embodies the desire to neither experience nor cause passive smoking. On the day, a seminar was held for junior high school students selected by lottery, followed by the award ceremony for the Senryu contest. The contest, themed around the importance of smoking cessation and the harms of tobacco, received 37,036 entries in the general category and 1,595 entries in the junior category.
