Meiji Kinenkan stands proudly in a corner of Meiji Jingu Gaien. In the 14th year of Meiji (1881), it was built as a dining hall to entertain distinguished guests from various countries at the former Akasaka Imperial Palace. Later, it was relocated to its current site and opened on November 1, Showa 22 (1947) as Meiji Jingu's reception facility.
