Meiko Career Partners Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Takuya Nakagawa; hereinafter 'Meiko Career Partners'), a subsidiary of Meiko Network Japan Co., Ltd., which operates the private tutoring school 'Meiko Gijuku', has been selected by Hiroshima Prefecture as the implementing partner for the FY2026 Hiroshima Prefecture 'Support Program for Foreign Talent Japanese Language Learning'.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to create a proper and smooth environment for the acceptance of foreign workers under the Specified Skilled Worker program, amid growing labor shortages in local SMEs due to aging populations and declining birthrates. Targeting companies in the prefecture that face challenges in providing Japanese language learning opportunities and support systems for foreign employees, the program will integrate an e-learning system with hands-on coaching support for businesses. This dual approach aims to reduce the burden on host companies while supporting foreign workers in improving their Japanese proficiency, settling into local communities, and smoothly transitioning to Specified Skilled Worker Status 1.
Overview of the Project
About the FY2026 Hiroshima Prefecture 'Support Program for Foreign Talent Japanese Language Learning'
As workforce acquisition becomes an urgent challenge for many companies, there is increasing demand to establish Japanese language education environments for foreign employees, especially in anticipation of the upcoming 'Employment and Development System' set to launch in FY2027 and transitions to Specified Skilled Worker Status 1. Under this project, Meiko Career Partners will provide over 300 free accounts of its Japanese e-learning platform 'Japany' to 100 foreign-worker-hosting companies in Hiroshima Prefecture. These accounts are intended for foreign nationals holding residency statuses such as 'Specified Skilled Worker' or 'Technical Intern Training'. Additionally, the program includes three progressive coaching workshops for companies to help them independently manage and support Japanese language learning, thereby facilitating smoother long-term employment within local businesses.
▶ Five Key Strengths of Meiko Career Partners' Japanese E-Learning Platform 'Japany'
High-Quality Learning Content Curated by Meiko Career Partners' dedicated Japanese instructors—experts in education—the platform offers a structured curriculum and clear instructional videos that enable efficient Japanese language acquisition.
Catering to Diverse Learning Needs With over 1,400 video lessons, the platform covers a wide range of topics, from JLPT preparation (N5 to N1) and preparation for the new 'Specified Skilled Worker 1 & 2' system, to industry-specific business Japanese for fields such as food service, caregiving, and IT.
Visualized Learning Goal Achievement Upon first login, learners take a diagnostic test to assess their current level and identify gaps toward their goals. A variety of quizzes and completion tests allow learners to track their progress and clearly understand their advancement toward their objectives.
Reduced Administrative Burden for Company Managers The management dashboard visualizes key metrics such as login rates, study hours, and test scores. Features like automated scheduling aligned with exam dates and push notifications to encourage learning enable efficient and effective support.
Multilingual User Interface The platform interface supports 12 languages (including English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Tagalog, Burmese, and Nepali). Additionally, beginner-level videos include multilingual subtitles and native-language explanations (in English, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Burmese, etc.), allowing even absolute beginners to start confidently.
