[Minami Chita Beach Land] Asian Small-Clawed Otter Pups Named 'Hinoki' and 'Sawara'! Naming Ceremony on June 7 <Aichi>

Minami Chita Beach Land (428-1 Okuda, Mihama-cho, Chita-gun; Director: Mamoru Ishido) has announced the names for the two Asian small-clawed otter pups born on February 6, 2026 (Friday): 'Hinoki' and 'Sawara'.

These names were selected from 705 entries received during the period from April 25 (Saturday) to May 17 (Sunday). The suggester, Daichi Yokoyama from Higashiura-cho, commented: 'Because they were born on February 6 (Bath Day), I associated them with Hinoki and Sawara, woods used for baths. The names are elegant and sound wonderful.'

In conjunction with this, a naming ceremony will be held within the park on June 7 (Sunday) to announce the names. The event will include the presentation of commemorative gifts to the suggester and the distribution of limited-edition stickers to visitors.
