Meitu, a company that develops image editing and processing apps, has newly released an AI image generation feature called "Mecha Vacance."

This feature was developed to coincide with the timing when "May sickness" (Gogatsubyou), a common feeling of malaise from spring to early summer, starts to become a concern. It can transform users' cherished pet or personal photos into humorous and soothing visuals, making it seem as though they are enjoying a vacation in a tropical or resort area.

"Mecha Vacance" particularly features the generation of meme-style visuals with pets as the main subject. Their usual adorable forms are transformed into images of them relaxing on a boat wearing sunglasses or enjoying a drink. Furthermore, when photos of people are loaded, they are converted into cute animal characters, allowing users to enjoy a world where they've gone on vacation as an animal.
