Kandu Shin-Rifu (Rifu-cho, Miyagi Prefecture), a vocational experience facility for children operated by Mercury Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shinjuku Nomura Building 23F, 1-26-2 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsuyoshi Akima), has begun operation of its new attraction, the 'Kandu Train,' which travels inside the Aeon Mall. This attraction allows children to tour the Aeon Mall with a captain. It is not just a transport attraction; its major feature is that children can naturally learn the basics of public transport, such as 'waiting for their turn,' 'checking for safety,' and 'learning manners in public spaces,' while having fun. Aiming to improve the value of the experience within the facility and increase visitor satisfaction, it operates as content that allows visitors to enjoy the world of Kandu while experiencing the charm of Aeon Mall Shin-Rifu, a large local commercial facility. The Kandu Train is a small electric train that children and parents can ride together. During the experience, children can learn safety rules such as 'do not stand up,' 'do not put hands outside,' and 'wait for your turn' before boarding. Traveling through the facility with the captain's announcements, it introduces Aeon Mall Shin-Rifu and Kandu Shin-Rifu, and provides information on job experiences, allowing parents and children to enjoy a non-routine facility tour. In recent years, there has been a shift in value from 'product consumption' to 'experience consumption' in commercial facilities, and the need for experience-based content that families can participate in is increasing. Kandu Shin-Rifu has been operating as an experience-based facility where children can challenge various occupations. The newly introduced 'Kandu Train' is an experience-based attraction that turns the travel time within the facility into 'learning' and 'entertainment.' As a 'first public transport experience' for children, it provides an opportunity to naturally learn manners and safety awareness while enjoying the ride. It also aims to create opportunities for parents and children to foster familiarity with public transport while having fun together. The operation started on May 27, 2026 (Wednesday), and is available to those who have participated in job experiences at Kandu Shin-Rifu on the day. To commemorate the launch, a limited-time 50% discount campaign is available.
